Landscape of hope > Sound & video installation

The 'Hope' installation is a symbolic landscape, which consists of garbage bags that are inflated with air. The garbage bags are a symbol of waste, of the wreckage of society. Part of the installation is a video with children who are looking at the landscape. They are portrayed upside down, which symbolizes the 'disruption'-theory. This theory assumes that you can come to completely new ideas if you approach a subject in a totally different way: upside down, as it were. The landscape produces the sound of a beating heart, which symbolizes a new life and a new future. Exhibited at EXIT11, center for contemporary art, Belgium.
