project info

THE SECRET OF THE UNDERGROUND FLOWERS: Resilience, Hope, and Augmented Reality.
This project explores how people in distress can create a parallel universe, offering a source of hope in challenging circumstances. The project involves a conceptual text, photography, and an Augmented Reality Artwork, engaging users through their smartphones.

Maureen Bachaus: artistic concept
Jeton Muja: curator & coördinator

STRUQT B.V: Metaverse, synthetic realities [AR, VR, XR], AI, emerging media
Metasculptures: product design, prototyping & 3D printing

The artistic concept

We may be living through times of unprecedented change, but in uncertainty lies the power to influence the future.

That’s why we decided to build underground flowers, constructed from the broken fragments of our existence.

Symbols of hope.
It is important to say what hope is not: it is not the belief
that everything was, is or will be fine.
The hope we are inter
ested in locates itself in the premises that
we don’t know what will happen and that in the
spaciousness of uncertainty is room to act.

When you recognize uncertainty, you recognize that you may be able to influence the outcomes.

And that’s why we built flowers. In hidden spaces, dark basements and damaged buildings,

but ready to face the daylight.
